Nexus, 2022
NEXUS, 2022 is my first jewelry collection and was finished over the span of a year and a half. This collection highlighted my growing fascination with the connection between the natural world and the human adornment. “Nexus” is a term that defines the connection between two things, the space between entities in which there is a joint relationship.
When i first thought of a name for this collection, i thought about where plants come from, how the living world is intertwined and how living creatures feed off one another. I thought about the stem of a plant, each blossoming flower, each single petal, each stamen of pollen being connected and integral to the entire organism.
In addition to plants and other flora, i observed MAMMALS, THEIR FLESH AND HOW THEY ARE BORN, GROW, DEFORM AND DIE. IT WAS ULTIMATELY THE ORGANIC FORMULA THAT DESIGNS LIFE THAT HELPED DESIGN my work for this collection.
